A historic step for ungrafted vines!

From the emblematic Château de Chambord 🇫🇷, the @francsdepied Association, of which we are proud founding members, announces the creation of certification for wines produced from ungrafted vines.

For the first time in history, the Francs de Pied association will certify, through a scientifically validated process, the authenticity and origin of ungrafted vineyards, a groundbreaking step that will be visibly marked with a dedicated seal on each wine bottle.

The Francs de Pied is an international organization bringing together producers, scientists, and wine experts through research and actions devoted to ungrafted vines.

Its common mission: to protect, preserve, and promote these rare vineyards that remain rooted in their own soil: ungrafted, original, and true to their land.

The certification process will rely on a scientifically based checklist, ensuring transparency, traceability, and preservation of the genetic heritage of ungrafted plants.

🍇 There will be two certification levels:

1️⃣ Old & ungrafted vineyards, planted with grape varieties native to the region.

2️⃣ Recently planted ungrafted vineyards, with varieties that may not originate from the region.

This marks a major milestone in the protection, recognition, and evaluation of ungrafted vines worldwide, a vision coming to life through the dedication of the association’s members.
