Double harvest: when the vineyard speaks, we listen.
Introduction
Every harvest brings its own challenges and its own stories. In Andros, at the Ypsilou vineyard of Kourtesis Winery, this year’s Mavrotragano led us to a double harvest.
The challenge
Ripening was uneven. Visual observation revealed it first, berry tasting confirmed it, and laboratory analyses recorded it clearly. The vineyard was sending its message – and we did what we always do: we listened.
What followed
That message led us to two harvests, on August 6th and 14th. Two passes in the same plot, with one common goal: to capture in the wine the ideal balance of freshness, acidity, phenolic ripeness, and structure.
The essence
The essence of our work and philosophy lies here: in listening to the vineyard, respecting the time it sets, and allowing nature to give us more than grapes.
It gives us stories that become wine.
