Spring in the vineyard: the start of a new cycle

Spring returns, bringing with it the magic of renewal. After months of winter dormancy, the vines are waking up. The first tender shoots timidly emerge — like silent promises of all that is to come.

Budburst marks the official beginning of a new growing season. It’s the moment when the vineyard comes alive once again: the vines respond to the gentle rhythm of spring and begin to grow, paving the way toward flowering, fruit set, ripening, and eventually, harvest.

This time of year, we walk through the vineyard rows, carefully observing every new leaf, every shoot. We monitor how budburst progresses in each grape variety, in every microclimate. For us, every vineyard has its own rhythm. Every vine, its own voice.

Now the first crucial decisions are made: when and how to apply the initial plant protection treatments, how to manage the weather conditions, the moisture, and any potential threats. There’s no universal formula. Only experience, observation, and a deep understanding of nature.

We are present — wherever the vineyard calls us. Attentive, responsible, and grounded. With awe for the vitality of the vine, with optimism for the season ahead, and above all, with respect for the people who place their trust in us.

Budburst reminds us that wine begins in the vineyard. And that every bottle is, at its heart, an expression of the land.
