Ungrafted Vines: A Story Beyond Time
In the heart of Naxos, among timeless traditions and untamed beauty, a story of resilience, heritage, and dedication is unfolding. Panos, along with Loic Pasquet and a film crew from Monaco, is capturing something rare—something that speaks not only of the past but also of the future: ungrafted vines.
These vineyards, untouched by the phylloxera epidemic that reshaped global viticulture, stand as living testaments to the purity of winemaking’s origins. They are more than a relic of history; they are a legacy that deserves not just preservation but redefinition, a renewed place in today’s world and the generations to come.
As founding members of the Francs de Pied Association, we take on the initiative of bringing this story to light. The documentary we are preparing is a tribute to purity, authenticity, and the wisdom of the vine. It’s a message that must be heard: the protection of ungrafted vines concerns us all.
This initiative goes even further, as it will be submitted alongside our official application for their recognition by UNESCO. An invitation to embrace the past, to elevate it, and to pass it forward.
Be part of this journey. A story is being written now—one that will belong to the future.
